The demonstration included chants of support, the playing of the national anthem, and calls for her release. The former president and current leader of the Justicialist Party responded by joining the chants, in her longest public appearance since the beginning of her house arrest. Hours earlier, Fernández de Kirchner issued a harsh statement on social media against President Javier Milei's economic policies, accusing him of causing a financial collapse and referring to alleged corruption scandals involving her sister, Karina. Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof also expressed his solidarity, warning that her arrest weakens democracy and sets a dangerous precedent for opposition leaders.
