Buenos Aires, Argentina – December 12, 2024: Members of the Association of State Workers (ATE) staged protests at the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, demanding the automatic renewal of over 50,000 contracts set to expire at the end of the year and an emergency salary adjustment in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 12, 2024.The union also protested at the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), highlighting the uncertainty caused by quarterly contract renewals and the erosion of constitutional rights to stable public employment. Rodolfo Aguiar, ATE’s Secretary General, emphasized that mobilization is essential to counter the government’s policies, which have led to a 40% loss in purchasing power for state workers during 2024. The union plans further actions in the coming days.
