Buenos Aires, Argentina – November 9, 2025: Boca Juniors defeated River Plate 2-0 at La Bombonera and secured qualification for the 2026 Copa Libertadores in a Superclásico they dominated throughout. Exequiel Zeballos scored the opener just before halftime after capitalizing on a rebound, and Miguel Merentiel extended the lead early in the second half following another play initiated by Zeballos. Despite multiple opportunities, Boca could not add a third goal, while River struggled to generate danger. The victory sends Boca into the Clausura round of 16 and confirms their continental spot.
