EL SALVADOR-U.S. Deports Tren de Aragua and MS-13 Members to El Salvador
San Salvador, El Salvador – March 2025: A group of 238 suspected members of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization and 23 Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) members, including two high-ranking leaders, arrived in El Salvador after being expelled from the United States. The deportations were carried out under the rarely invoked 1798 Alien Enemies Act, last used during World War II. Former President Donald Trump called the individuals «monsters» and criticized the Biden administration for allowing them into the country.
